When everything goes to shit, improvisation is necessary.
Claire texted me a couple of weeks before Christmas of 2022 saying how Jack and her needed to get married ASAP. Their original plan was to get married in 2023, on a mountain in Colorado, where Jack is from, but my beautiful Irish wildflower is really + truly Irish and her green card was going to be shortened by a couple of months -- suddenly, with no explanation. You gotta love the U.S. government, am I right?
So I texted back immediately how we could not only pull this off, but also make it a beautiful and intentional day. And that's exactly what it was.
With only a few days before Christmas Eve ahead of them, they decided to trace their steps of their first photo session with me. We even met at the same ferry! They had two dear sets of friends come (the incredible Andrew officiated) and celebrate with them and along with their sweet pup Pacha, they said yes to forever on the cliff side where I had photographer their engagement. Suffice to say, this place is one of my most favorite places to photograph my couples.
There wasn't a dry eye on the bluff as Jack + Claire exchanged some of the most precious vows I've ever heard. Even if we were all cold hearted bastards, we would have been crying due to the intense wind and rain coming over the ocean. But it was all worth it, especially since we sloshed back to our cars and met at Toby's, where we had burgers and hot chocolate. Along with delicious beers + IPA's.
Claire + Jack, you and I are a forever thing and I couldn't be happier about that.
I love you extra extra big.
