For me, there is no greater compliment than people coming from out of state to work with me. It is the biggest honor to have someone go out of their way to work with you.
These Texas cuties didn't entirely go out of the way to see me though. They wanted to celebrate their engagement with a little pre-honeymoon, traveling up the Pacific Northwest from California! They told me they were hoping for a more urban feel and I thought, what better than a downtown engagement session in Seattle? Pike's Place alone is the perfect spot to explore and that's exactly where we went! I met Jen + Krista at their hotel where they were in the midst of finishing up getting ready with one of the most spectacular views this side of the Mississippi.
We snuck out to the hotel balcony to catch the sights of the skyscrapers around us and made our way down to arguably one of the most popular spots in Seattle history. We had a delightful time documenting their love in a bookstore - something with special meaning since that's how they had spent their first date. It only cost $11 to photograph there, my penance for my camera being a poetry book by one of my favorite authors.
We chatted about their upcoming wedding at a gorgeous coffee shop and ended our time together in one of the prettiest stairwells I've ever done seen. We walked back to the hotel together, me with a bouquet of flowers in hand that they had bought me as a thank you gift.
Jen + Krista, you are two of the sweetest, most joyous and kind people I could have ever hoped to meet. Thank you for everything
